The Africa Public Health Network (APHN) is a non-profit organization established to conduct and support programs and activities aimed at solving major public health challenges in Africa. Our focus areas include health system strengthening, to maximize impact on the health of the people; supporting health programs targeting major infectious and non-infectious diseases in Africa; developing workforce skills and knowledge; strengthening and improving emergency preparedness and response including disaster and humanitarian relief; and promoting health policy research and innovation.
The Africa Public Health Network (APHN) works to strengthen Africa’s public health systems in line with the strategic priorities set at national and continental levels. Our establishment was driven by the persistent gaps and challenges within regional and national health systems observed over the years including the lessons learned from the recent COVID-19 pandemic. To have maximum impact and enhance footprint across the African continent, APHN has been rebranded from its predecessor, Project HOPE Namibia (PHN), and involved also other network of diverse organizations and entities operating across the continent.
